Richmond, VA, June 27, 2016 – AdvanceTEC, market leader in cleanroom engineering, design, construction and process integration, today announced that it has been selected to provide turn-key cleanroom and process utility design-build services for the University of Kansas advanced cleanroom facilities within the Interdisciplinary Science Building (ISB), part of the Innovation Way central campus expansion project at KU. The ISB will provide faculty laboratory and student learning spaces where team-based interdisciplinary research will solve real‐world problems, focusing on chemistry-based approaches and nanoscience environments.

AdvanceTEC was selected for the project following an intense competitive bid process that focused on experience, capabilities, innovation and execution. Key to AdvanceTEC’s selection was the company’s approach of “designing from the inside out,” which focuses on optimizing the integration of process tools, systems, utilities to drive cleanroom and HVAC design. Supporting this approach is AdvanceTEC’s in house engineering capabilities, which includes Professional Engineers (PE), “Intelligent” 3D BIM Modeling, and a concurrent design-build methodology. AdvanceTEC also prevailed with their proven expertise with nanotechnology process tool integration, a critical component of the ISB cleanroom project.

The project will be led by Clark/McCownGordon, a joint venture between Clark Construction and McCownGordon Construction. AdvanceTEC and Clark Construction have previously constructed a number of leading edge research cleanroom projects; including facilities at George Washington University, the University of Maryland, and the Naval Research Labs.
